Long story short, a bunch of voice actors for my show that were supposed to be signing up to play much-needed incidental roles, customers and the like, ceased communication with me. I put up a project on StarNow, they respond saying they'd be interested, I reply with a thank you and a list of available roles, and no one even checks the messages.
To make matters worse, we're still in need of some art for a farkakt title graphic; I've spoken to about 20 different artists about it and every time they just don't deliver anything. At all. Nothing. This is putting production of the show behind by months so far and I'm sick of being ducked by people without the courtesy to say 'In fact I changed my mind'. *sigh* Rant over.

Well that is just rude! I have a rant, just a mini-rant however, so here goes. I get an email from an author today that had contacted GMTA before with his book and was accepted. Well, after months of not hearing from him... (since last year) I found out that he'd been on Absolute Write Water Cooler in a post about GMTA... obviously bashing us... he has the nerve to contact me asking if I'm still interested in publishing his book... I wrote him a nice little email back of course. You can all view the correspondence below minus the person's name, I don't want to drag anyone around in muddy water because I'm a lady:
Ms. Bullard,
This is ********** a few months ago you were interested in my book, 'Dear Mr. Killer', but I had some editing to do. Was curious if you still were by chance. Also what I would need to pay for this.

Hello ********,
We do not charge fees of any kind for publishing, however we would no longer be interested in your work due to your recent post on Absolute Write Water Cooler defaming our company. GMTA is an honest business that seeks to help Independent Authors gain notoriety and help them promote their novels in every area possible and we do not take kindly to being painted in a negative light when we feel the hard work we put into our endeavors is very important as well as passionate.
We wish you luck publishing your novels and hope you will find a company interested in them.
Thank you.
Sincerely, Kitty D. Bullard

You're both cracking me up ... so funny. Thank you. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one with a rant, but I'll save my rant for another time.
Hope everything works out for you Reece and go get 'em Kitty :-)

People are just idiots, Kitty. Not even bothering to do research before submitting work. I did my research beforehand. Even tried creating my own publishing, proving that I didn't know enough to survive. Crashed, burned, and buried. Lost friends who were idiots to the process.
Oh, well. Live and learn. Now I am here and happy.
